Race Summary

SHE'S THAT CAT, never far back and five or six wide, advanced steadily approaching the stretch, quickly wrested command when straightened for the drive, edged inward when clear of foes, then maintained her advantage under strong hand urging. TEN CARAT RUBY, within easy striking distance always, moved with the winner while inside that one nearing the stretch, was steadied for a stride when briefly in tight leaving the quarter-mile ground, swung outside the winner soon after and was second best. CANTRELL ROAD, outrun for a half, made a run to reach contention six wide into the final furlong but couldn't sustain the needed momentum. EDGE SWEEP went up early four wide to press front-running WICKED WISH, reached the front just before going a half but weakened entering the lane. SOUTHERNENGAGEMENT broke sharply while drifting out, quickly settled to trail, was outrun to the stretch and improved position off the inside. WICKED WISH gained the lead early, raced two or three wide, made the pace for almost a half, lost the advantage to EDGE SWEEP, continued forwardly to the stretch and weakened. CLASSICAL DELLA moved near the inside around the turn and failed to rally. MY TIME NOW, forwardly placed for a half, gradually tired. TOOT'S LIL CHIC, between foes four or five wide, weakened midway on the turn. TOUCH OF SPLENDOR was done after a half. A FOUL CLAIM LODGED BY THE RIDER OF TEN CARAT RUBY AGAINST THE WINNER FOR ALLEGED INTERFERENCE AT THE QUARTER-MILE GROUND WAS DISALLOWED.
