Race Summary

LEFTY'S LADY tracked the pace along the rail, slipped through inside ROYAL LACE to take over at the top of the stretch and opened a clear lead, then was all out to last over CLEVER NOTE. The latter, rated off the pace after being eased back on the first turn, followed the winner through along the inside leaving the far turn, eased outside that rival in the stretch and rallied to just miss. MECKE'S PRINCESS reserved after being steadied in behind SANGUE'S CROWN in the early going, raced three wide on the far turn and finished willingly for the show. RUSLANOVA allowed to settle, advanced along the rail to reach contention in the stretch but couldn't sustain her bid. PLEDGE OF PEACE unhurried early, raced three wide on the far turn and passed tired rivals. JEAN DE ACTRESS failed to menace. ROYAL LACE wide around the first turn, rushed up to gain lead, made the pace to the top of the stretch, drifted out and bumped with JOJO MARIE, then tired. JOJO MARIE chased the pace, made a run to join ROYAL LACE leaving the far turn, then bumped with that rival at the top of the stretch and faltered. SALEM COUNTY was outrun after being steadied at the start. FAST ACCESS well placed, advanced into contention on the far turn, then was steadied in behind JOJO MARIE at the top of the stretch and faded. SANGUE'S CROWN showed brief speed, stopped and was eased in the stretch run. (The rail on the turf course was set at 84 feet).
