FOR THREE-YEAR-OLDS AND UPWARD. By subscription of $150 each on or before May 20, 2006 or by Supplementary Nomination of $7,500 each by the closing of entries Friday May 26, 2006. $750 to pass the entry box; $750 additional to start, with $100,000 added and an additional $50,000 from the Breeders' Cup Fund for Cup nominees only. After payment of 1% of the host association's added monies to all owners of horses finishing sixth through last, 62% of the remaining purse shall be paid to the owner of the winner, 20% to second, 10% to third, 5% to fourth and 3% to fifth. Breeders' Cup Fund monies also correspondingly divided providing a Breeders' Cup nominee has finished first through fifth. Any Breeders' Cup Fund monies not awarded will revert back to the Fund. LOST IN THE FOG broke in front, pressed front-running EXCITING METRO four wide, took over midway on the turn, edged clear in the upper stretch, then was under steady encouragement to hold sway. KELLY'S LANDING, never far back and four or five wide, loomed menacingly outside the winner through the drive but wasn't good enough. LEVEL PLAYINGFIELD settled three wide, eased out four or five wide for the drive and managed a mild gain. PRO PRADO relaxed five wide early, edged in around the turn, swung out eight wide for the drive but lacked a closing kick. EXCITING METRO gained the lead early, raced two wide, lost the advantage to the winner on the turn and weakened gradually. COUGAR CAT raced in contention near the inside for a half, angled four wide for the drive but flattened out. |
