KELLY'S LANDING - TRACK RECORD AT CHURCHILL DOWNS!

"Anytime you can come near a track record at Churchill downs, with all the history of the track being so great, if you ever even come close to a track record, it's a big achievement. To actually break Kona Gold's record...who would have thought that a horse that's never run in a stakes race in his life could, in his very first attempt, beat that stakes record? So it's absolutely one of the biggest thrills we've had so far."
- Eddie Kenneally in Thoroughbred Times Today following Kelly's Landing's explosive victory in the Aristides Breeders' Cup Handicap (G3), in which the 4 year old son of Patton broke Kona Gold's track record for 6 furlongs, covering the distance in a scorching 1:07.59.

Summerplace Farm's KELLY'S LANDING won a 6 1/2 furlong $55,800 ALW at Churchill Downs on May 29, 2005, in a fast time of 1:15.56 (click for race chart >>) - and followed up by BREAKING THE TRACK RECORD at Churchill Downs while winning the $162,450 G3 ARISTIDES BREEDERS' CUP HANDICAP, June 25, 2005.
